Winter @ Gramercy – Sign UP!

From December 5, 2010 to April 3, 2010 youth group and private lessons will be offered Sunday mornings at our Gramercy location. These will include:

Tiny Toddler Tennis: (Purple) 2-4.5 yrs		Mini Aces:(Orange-Rally) 7-10 yrs
Tiny Tennis: (Blue & Red) 4.5-7 yrs

About Tennis at our Gramercy Location

Our Gramercy Winter lessons take place at PS 40 on East 20th Street, between 1st and 2nd Avenues. It is a Gym Space in which we set up youth tennis courts (based on the USTA QuickStart Tennis Method) to match the skills, sizes, and abilities of young tennis players. It is easily accessible via the the 6 train to 23rd Street or the L train to 3rd Avenue.

For players 10 and under, indoor lessons will be offered on Sunday mornings from December-April. Scroll down for more schedule information.

WINTER SESSION DIRECTIONS:

• Make sure to proceed to PS 40: Salk School of Science Indoor Gym for your child’s lessons. Entrance is on E 20th St.
• The door/gate should be open, but in rare cases that it’s not ring the door bell at least twice and the security guard who will point you to the right direction towards the gym.
• Through the cafeteria and outside the courtyard.
• Once you get into the other building, the gym is down the hall and to the right.

Class Sizes & Lengths

Tiny Toddler Tennis classes have a 2:1 or 3:1 student to instructor ratio, depending on level. Tiny Tennis and Mini Aces classes have a 4:1 student to instructor ratio.

Tiny Toddler Tennis classes are 30 minutes long. Tiny Tennis classes are 45 minutes long. Mini Aces Competitive classes are 75 minutes long.

All rates are pro-rated, so your child can sign up for tennis with us anytime during a session! (space permitting)

Mini Aces Tennis @ Gramercy – Winter 2010

Private Sessions

Private lessons are available in a one-to-one setting as well as group settings (up to four students to one instructor).

Missed Classes, Make-Ups & Cancellations

Policy

There is a maximum of 1 complimentary makeup class for the Fall outdoor session. The second missed class requires a $12 rescheduling fee to be made up. Make up classes cannot be refunded, exchanged or transferred. It must be taken by the end of the session in which it is missed and cannot be carried over to the next season. There is a maximum of 2 classes that can be made up within the outdoor session.

Cancellations with less than 4 hours notice cannot be refunded, rescheduled, or credited. This also goes for classes in which we are not notified at all of the cancellation.

Cancellation Procedure

1. Preferably a day before or sooner (must be at least 4 hours). Please go online and cancel your class via your online schedule.
2. Receive an auto email confirmation.
3. Reply to the confirmation email with the class dates & times you can come by for a make up class (see above schedule for options).
4. Receive an email confirmation back from us for the date that has an available spot.

Finding a Make-Up Class

Once we are notified that your child will miss a class, we will put you on our make-up notification list. You will receive a weekly email letting you know which classes are available for your child’s level. Once you find a class that fits your schedule, you can sign up via your online account using a Make-Up credit in your account, or email us back to let us know your make-up class choice. The available make up options are any classes listed above or at our other locations within the same season and is also subject to space availability. If your schedule does not allow you to make one of these makeup times, we will not be able to issue refunds for missed classes or transfer them to another season.

Facility & Weather Issues

Because our Gramercy location is outdoors, there is the slight chance that lessons will be canceled or moved to an indoor location nearby. If this ever occurs, we apologize in advance and will:

1. Notification Method: Contact you via email. If it’s the unlikely scenario where it is a same day cancellation we will also send out an automated voice message.
2. Make Up Class: We will add the canceled class to the end of your session automatically, on the same day and at the same time.

What to Bring:

All students should wear comfortable clothing as well as sneakers or covered sports shoes. Sandals, Keds, and other types of shoes don’t offer the type of ankle support tennis players need. Balls will be provided for all classes, however students must bring their own youth racquets as well as a bottle of water. Racquets are available to rent at a rate of $2/lesson. Racquets can be reserved for your child’s lesson in advance by calling us at 347-284-6061.
