Class Sizes & Lengths

Classes here follow the HoneyComb format where they are small enough for your children to be able to play with their friends and receive more instructional feedback from their coach, with a max of 4:1 student to teacher ratio

Tiny Toddler Tennis classes are 30 minutes long w/ a 2:1 (yes basically a semi-private!). Tiny Tennis classes are 45 minutes long (max 4:1 student to teacher ratio). Mini Aces and Jr. Aces classes are 60 minutes long (4:1 student to teacher ratio).

All rates are pro-rated, so your child can sign up for tennis with us anytime during a session! (space permitting)

Private lessons are available in a one-to-one setting as well as group settings (up to four students to one instructor).

CANCELLATION POLICIES

Summer Group Class Make-Ups & Cancellation Policy

 

 

• Any classes missed
  • At least 48 hours cancellation notice before your class – FREE makeup class.
• Any classes missed
  • Less than 48 hours notice, but at least 24 hours notice – $12 cancellation fee.
• No maximum on number of missed classes if within the policy above.

Make-Up Class Restrictions

• Make-up classes must be used within your season of classes.
• Missed classes due to personal reasons must be made-up within the season and cannot be extended to the next season. For canceled classes due to weather/facility issues, please see our weather policy.

WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICIES

Facility & Weather Issues Contact Procedure 

Because our Midtown West location is outdoors, there is the chance that lessons will be canceled due to inclement weather. If this ever occurs, we apologize in advance and will:

 

 

1. Notification Method: Contact you via email. If it’s the unlikely scenario where it is a same day cancellation we will also send out an automated voice message.

Weather Cancellation Make-Up Policy

1. Rained Out Class or Private Lesson Make Up Policy: For summer classes & private lessons since it is open enrollment, please sign up online at your convenience for another class time that fits your schedule.   The class will NOT be automatically rescheduled.
2. Rained Out Camp Day Make Up Policy:  See camp weather make up policy.

WHAT TO BRING:

• Athletic shoes. All students should wear comfortable clothing as well as sneakers or covered sports shoes. Sandals, Keds, and other types of shoes don’t offer the type of ankle support tennis players need.
• Racquet. Racquets are available to rent at a rate of $2/lesson. Racquets can be reserved for your child’s lesson in advance via his/her online account.
• Bottle of water
• Additional equipment may be needed for certain camps. Please go to the specific camp info page to check on what to bring for the camp.

ABOUT THE LOCATION

Our Midtown West (PS 111) lessons take place at 440 West 53rd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues. It has outdoor tennis courts in which we set up youth tennis courts (based on the USTA QuickStart Tennis Method) to match the skills, sizes, and abilities of young tennis players. The school is conveniently near the 1, C or E trains to 50th Street or the N, R, or W trains to 49th Street.
