Tennis Camps

Overview of Youth Tennis Camps
The BumbleBee Tennis Youth Tennis Camp is perfect for beginners and advanced beginners between the ages of 2.5 and 13 years who want to learn and improve on their tennis skills. The tennis camp will build a foundation of the core tennis skills including the forehand, backhand, volley, and serve. In addition, exercises will focus to improve on other tennis related skills such as hand-eye coordination, timing, stamina, and reflexes. The tennis drills, based on the Quickstart method established by the USTA allow for instant tennis success. Tennis can be a difficult sport to learn, but with our specially designed tennis camps, students are playing the game of tennis quicker than ever!

Setup & equipment
Each group will have their own Quickstart modified sized tennis court that matches the skills and abilities of young children. The shorter nets and smaller racquets & balls enable children 13 and under to learn tennis in a fun and easier way. Scaling down the game enables children to feel overjoyed, instead of overwhelmed and provides them with the confidence and ability to cover the entire court.

  • Court- Mini nets are 18′ long and 2.9′ tall, allowing us to put as many as 4 nets on one full size court.
  • Racquets- In all of our youth tennis programs, we ask that youth racquets be used not only to prevent injury, but also to make it easier for students to have control of their movements. Children 2.5-6 year olds can use 21″ racquets and children 7-13 year olds can use 23″ or 25″ racquets. We have racquet rentals available for $3/lesson if your child needs one.
  • Balls- Regulation tennis balls are too heavy and bounce too fast for for smaller racquets. Foam or low-compression balls move slower and bounce less, so students can practice volleying and work on hand-eye coordination.

What to Bring
Campers are recommended to bring:

  • Tennis sneakers or running shoes
  • A youth-sized tennis racquet
    • Racquet rentals are available for $3/day or $15/week.
    • Youth racquets are available for purchase for between $34-$44
  • Water bottle
  • Lunch (if enrolled in full-day camp)
  • Hat, Sunscreen, Sweat towel
