Cardio Tennis is High Intensity, Heart Pounding Fun!
Cardio Tennis is a fun group activity, featuring heart pumping tennis drills and games that give players of all abilities the ultimate, high-energy workout.
With Cardio Tennis you can…
- Consistently elevate your heart rate into your aerobic training zone.
- Burn more calories than singles or doubles tennis.
- Receive short cycles of high intensity workouts, with periods of rest (similar to interval training).
- Achieve a great workout while improving your tennis skills.
The Cardio Tennis Program
The Cardio Tennis Program includes a short, dynamic warm-up, a cardio workout phase and a cool-down phase. Each phase consists of drills specifically designed to be fun, challenging and to get you moving and your heart rate pumping.
Your Aerobic Training Zone
The goal is to get your heart rate into your aerobic training zone (65-85% of your maximum recommended heart rate) for the entire session and keep it there. Studies show that exercising within this zone is optimal for your future health, reduces the risk of heart disease and burns more calories than traditional workouts.
Cardio Tennis vs. Routine Workouts
Compared to your gym routine and other fitness activities, Cardio Tennis workouts offer the same amount or more aerobic exercise while being a fun and challenging way to improve your tennis game. Now you can have more fun and excitement in your exercise routine!
Improving Your Game
You will naturally improve as a player because you hit so many forehands, backhands, and volleys while getting a fun, healthy workout.
Levels
- Beginner Cardio- This class is good for students who have taken at least one or two group lessons prior to enrolling in this class (levels 1-2.5). There is a short 10 minute review at the beginning of the class, followed by modified drills suitable for beginner to advanced beginner cardio participants.
- Cardio- The regular cardio class we offer is good for tennis players level 2.5 and higher. There is no review or instruction, and the class will contain fast-paced drills to keep your heart pumping and provide you with the high energy tennis workout you desire.
The maximum number of students per class is six, but the number of students enrolled usually averages 4-5 per class.
